We have all probably experienced the difficulties of removing wall paper, especially WOODCHIP WALLPAPER!

During the renovation of our house, we removed one layer of normal wallpaper to reveal the dreaded woodchip wallpaper beneath. This is where the fun started. Here are the two ways in which it can be removed easily:

1). The fastest way is to purchase a steamer, you should be able to pick up a steamer for between £18 and £30 (Ebay is a good place to look for these, there are a few good options). I have a £20 steamer which does the job perfectly, simply fill it with boiling water, plug it in and off you go, just hold the steamer for a few seconds on to the paper and then with the scraper the paper should just fall off.

TOP TIP – start from the bottom, as steam rises it will help loosen the paper above whilst your doing the lower bit.

2). If you dont want to pay for a steamer or only have a small bit of wallpaper to remove then you can just brush the paper with water, leave it for about 10 minutes, then begin scraping (it might be that you need to give it 2 coats of water before scraping)

TOP TIP – which ever method you use, always score the wallpaper with a knife to allow the steam or water to get into and beneath the paper to help loosen it.
